While not actively working on this project, I’ve stumbled on a seat for it. The Airtech Reed-Titan seat base I bought for Bultakenstein just hasn’t worked out the way I thought. It looks awkwardly tail-heavy on that bike. But while struggling to resolve that issue, I happened to set the seat down on the Aermacchi frame, nearby. Suddenly, a shaft of light came down from above and I heard a choir. YES! I quickly shifted gears into A-D Special mode. I unbolted the rear fender and hacked off the one remaining rear turn signal stalk (the left one was already broken off anyway). With that, the seat could drop into place. I happened to have some styrofoam blocks just the right size to level it. It’s truly uncanny how well the seat fits. I will need to create a filler panel to fit between the frame and seat ahead of the shock mount, but that that’s not too hard and actually helps the design visually, as one of the issues with the Reed Titan seat is that the skinny seat section looks odd in comparison to the chunky tail piece. This has re-energized me for both projects!
