So, I’ve been chatting with some folks in Europe making Supermono replicas, and was given a terrific suggestion. Instead of making a whole rocker box and balancer arm, you can achieve the same result “cripple triple style”, by simply letting the piston be the bob weight. It requires nothing more complex than ripping the rear head off and replacing it with a thick alloy block-off plate with a generously sized hole in it. If you want to be all fancy, a spigot for an air filter keeps the atmospherium out. I checked the frame and I have plenty of clearance for the rear cylinder once it’s relieved of its head.
This project just keeps getting easier. Weird.
