New frame measurements

I didn’t expect to have the Bultaco frame back in the jig, but I need to ensure the wheel is properly positioned on the center line of the bike in order to make spacers to fit it to the new SRX-6 swingarm. I’m a bit stymied by the fact that my rear sprocket offset does not match my previous measurement notes. Oh well, the wheels go off to a local blasting shop to get stripped and cleaned in the morning, so I can do more careful measurements once I get them back. You can see in the photo how gunked-up and corroded the 18″ rear wheel is now. Hopefully, it will look a lot better in a week or two.

Just to illustrate how important persnickety this type of data gathering is, I discovered that, as installed, the right leg of the SRX-6 swingarm is 8 mm further outboard from the center line. Additionally, my rear frame loop is likewise asymmetrical; the right side angles in about 6 mm in towards the centerline. So you end up with this:

In the process, I got sick of struggling with $20 Harbor Freight calipers, and bought something much nicer to work with.
