I also took a cutoff wheel to the little battery box. I guess I’ve really done it now; it’s no longer original. Some avid Shin San Tong restorer probably has it out for me now. Why did I deface this priceless vintage artifact? Well, that explanation will have to wait. In the meantime, ignore what looks like the end of a shock that’s visible at the bottom of the photo. It’d ruin the surprise.
