I had previously bought a Yamaha SR250 swingarm for the Benelli, but the SR swingarm would need some significant re-work to fit the Benelli. Rather than wrestle with adapting another swingarm to the Benelli frame, I decided to simply purchase a stock one off Ebay for a grand total of $35 — in this case, it’s from the same vendor as my frame and almost assuredly the specific piece it originally had when it left Pesaro.

I resisted this path because I thought I’d already reamed out the swingarm holes in the frame to match the larger diameter Yamaha swingarm pivot shaft. Nope! Talk about mis-remembering! I forget where it came from, but the pivot bolt I have on hand is exactly the same length and diameter as the stock Benelli pivot bolt.

Hot diggity! Let’s slap on that swingarm. Looks great from this angle.

From the top down, not so much. Hmm…
