Is this the silliest looking motorcycle ever?
The Suzuki front end I originally modified for Bultakenstein fits perfectly and the outer races for the new steering bearings ended up being a nice, tight press fit in the frame, with no retaining goop needed.
I then purchased two Yamaha Venture 1200 front wheels.
When they arrived, I realized that I’d failed to consider a problem with my wheel choice: at the front. it won’t fit between the forks.
I’m sure how I want to resolve this yet. I could:
- Find a lathe big enough to modify this rim
- get a wider set of triple clamps
- Get a different front wheel and have mismatched wheels
- Get rid of both wheels and go with something totally different.
It’s kind of a drag, because I was really digging this wheel choice.
