I picked up a plastic tank from a ’77 Can-Am Qualifier that I’m toying with using. It fits the angular, late ’70s look I have in my head better than the more old-timey Rex KL35 tank, but the square rear doesn’t really match the tapered front of the seat. Also, I’m specifically trying to make this look like a roadster and NOT like a dirt bike. Using a poly tank kind of works against that. Fortunately, I really don’t need to decide on my tank choice anytime soon. I’m not sure why it matters, since this thing is going to end up being sinfully ugly anyway.

The frame is scheduled to go to my friendly neighborhood welder next week to have the back half welded up. In the meantime, I am trying to nail down how some of the other bits should be, such as seat mount, shock mounts, etc., so I can hopefully have him do those as well.
