Yamaha swingarm swap

As I noted in my recent Bultakenstein post, the SR250 swingarm I had originally installed in this chassis has been tapped for duty in the Bultaco chassis. However, I was able to install the SRX-6 swingarm into the Montesa frame with surprisingly little effort, and the I was even able to get the Katana wheel centered properly with just a little lathe work to make new spacers. I really like the way the silver, square tube swingarm looks. Of course, this means that some additional cross-tubes will need to be added to provide mounting points for the rear of the engine. But, of course, that doesn’t need to happen until the choice of engine has been finalized!

I also ordered a stock seat. In fact, it’s almost assuredly the actual seat from this particular frame; I bought from the same the Ebay vendor. The pan is slightly bent in the back right corner and the cover is rotted in spots, but bashing it back into shape and reupholstering it shouldn’t be too hard.

This remains a back-burner project for now.
