As I’ve stated, my motivation to build this bike came from wanting to do something with my cache of leftover parts. Well, the aluminum muffler in the photos I recently posted was sold by RPS (Richter Performance Systems). I bought it in 1986, for my Formula IV Bultaco Pursang roadracer.

I only raced that bike one season, and then parted it out. But I kept the front number plate and the muffler (including the alloy band mount that I had not used). I’m not sure why I kept it and continued to hold onto it for 35 years, but I did. I thought I would use it for Bultakenstein, but the 1″ inlet diameter is wrong for what that bike will need. But it will work great for The Bride, however, and I’m thrilled it’s going on this bike!
